Acceptable Use Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 28 September 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to you, your employees and contractors, and to the end users of any product in which you integrate System1 Models. You must pass it on to them.
1. Prohibited uses
You must not use the Service, or allow anyone else to use it:
- Illegal activity: to break any law, or to facilitate or promote illegal activity, including fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, and trade in illegal goods or services.
- Prohibited AI practices: for any practice prohibited by Article 5 of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), including manipulative or deceptive techniques that materially distort behaviour, exploiting vulnerabilities of specific groups, social scoring, predicting the risk that a person commits a crime based solely on profiling, untargeted scraping of facial images, emotion recognition in the workplace or in education, and biometric categorisation to infer sensitive characteristics.
- Child safety: for anything that sexualises minors or relates to child sexual abuse or exploitation. We report such content to the competent authorities.
- Violence and extremism: to promote, plan or incite violence, terrorism or violent extremism.
- Harm to people: to harass, intimidate, bully or discriminate against people; to promote self-harm; or to track or monitor people without their consent or another legal basis.
- Privacy violations: to process personal data without a legal basis; to infer sensitive information (for example health, sexual orientation, political opinion, religion or ethnic origin) about individuals without all required rights and consents.
- Automated decisions with significant effects: to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for individuals — for example about credit, employment, education, housing, insurance, healthcare, social benefits, or access to essential services — based solely on the Service's output without meaningful human review, or in any way that breaches Art. 22 GDPR or the EU AI Act. If your use case is a high-risk AI system under the EU AI Act, you are responsible for meeting its requirements.
- Unlicensed professional practice: to provide legal, medical, financial or other regulated professional advice without the required qualification and licence, or to make misleading claims of expertise in such areas.
- Deception: for spam, phishing, scams, malware, disinformation campaigns, or to impersonate people or organisations; or to present automated results as human judgements in order to deceive.
- Rights of others: to infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties, including by submitting content you have no right to use.
- Security: to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service or other systems without our written permission; to circumvent rate limits, balance or usage caps, authentication or safety measures; to interfere with the Service or other customers; or to share API keys publicly.
- Abuse of the offer: to create multiple accounts to claim promotional credit more than once; or to resell raw API access as a standalone service without our written permission. Integrating the Service as a part of your own product is allowed.
- Model extraction: to use the Service systematically to reconstruct model weights, or to benchmark and publish results in a misleading way. Fair, documented benchmarks are welcome.
2. Use restrictions of the model authors
The models we host are published by third parties under open-source licences (see Model licences). Those licences (Apache License 2.0) do not add use restrictions of their own. Google publishes a Gemma Prohibited Use Policy for earlier Gemma models. Although it is not part of the Apache 2.0 licence under which Gemma 4 is released, we apply its principles to all models built on Gemma 4 (currently s1-pro and, if offered, s1-vision). Section 1 of this policy already covers them. If a model author or the provider of a base model adds binding use terms that apply to hosted services, we will add them here and tell you by email at least 30 days in advance, unless the terms apply sooner.
3. Your responsibilities
- Test the models for your use case and monitor their output. Probabilities can be wrong or badly calibrated.
- Tell your end users, where the law requires it (for example under Art. 50 EU AI Act or Art. 13/14 GDPR), that AI is involved and how their data is processed.
- Keep your API keys secret and revoke them if they may have leaked.
4. Enforcement
If we reasonably suspect a breach of this policy, we may investigate, ask you to stop, rate-limit or suspend individual API keys or the account (section 8 of the Terms), and in serious cases terminate the contract. Because we do not store request content, investigations rely on metadata, reports from third parties and information you provide.
5. Reporting misuse
Report suspected misuse or security vulnerabilities to info@productivity-boost.com. We welcome responsible disclosure of security issues and will not take legal action against good-faith research that follows our Security page.
